Children's Village

The Children’s Village is located on 8 acres of land surrounded by the lush green hills of Galle, 5km in from the ocean.  The village will be constructed to not only serve as a home for children orphaned by the tsunami but also as a resource centre and gathering place for the surrounding villages.  These surrounding villages have been recently constructed after the tsunami for families who have lots their homes.  A play ground, library, Children’s home, medical centre will be made available to these villagers.

Nutrition programs

Currently we are assisting 2 nutrition centers in the Villages of Nediyamadu, and Unnithchai in Batticaloa on the East coast of Sri Lanka . These villages are located in a LTTE controlled area so there is little electricity, water and education facilities. Between 30 and 50 children attend each nutrition center all between the ages of 3 and 5.

Sponsorship Program

Every day 45 children between the ages of 3 and 5 attend the Unnichchai Nutrition Center.  This centre’s primary focus is to provide the children with the resources and care to keep them safe from harm and nurture them into happy and healthy individuals.
